Terms of service

undrstand is operated by Louwr. These terms of service are a legally binding agreement between you and Louwr for the use of the undrstand website, API and MCP server (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use it
To use the Service you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, that you can enter into this agreement, and that what you tell us about yourself is accurate.
2. What the Service is
undrstand is a self-awareness backend. You hand in text about your life; it derives situations, feelings, triggers, behaviours and patterns from that text and gives them back to you through an API and an MCP server. It has no interface of its own; you use it through an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, or through an app built on the API.
The Service is not medical care, therapy or diagnosis. Its output is an aid to reflection, not professional advice, and you remain responsible for what you do with it.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address, a magic link, or a social login. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the tokens and apps you authorise. Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Your content
You own what you hand in and everything derived from it. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display it for the sole purpose of providing the Service, including sending it to the AI processor named in our privacy policy.
You may not hand in content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that contains other people's personal data you have no right to share.
5. Apps and developers
If you register an app, you are responsible for it. You must ask only for the scopes your app needs, describe honestly what it does, keep your client secret confidential, and handle users' data under a privacy policy at least as protective as ours. You may not use the Service to build anything that presents undrstand's output as a diagnosis, that sells or resells users' data, or that circumvents scopes.
We may suspend an app that breaks these rules or that harms users or the Service.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Interfere with or overload the Service
- Attempt to access another user's data or any part of the Service you are not authorised for
- Reverse engineer the analysis to extract the models' instructions or to attack the Service
- Use the Service to process data about another person without a lawful basis
7. Price
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid plans we will announce them in advance, and nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.
9. Ending the agreement
You may delete your account at any time; your data is then deleted as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or end your account if you breach these terms, if we suspect abuse, or if we discontinue the Service.
10. Liability
The Service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is nil. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
Dutch law applies. We first try to resolve any dispute together in good faith. If that does not work, the competent court in the Netherlands decides, unless mandatory consumer rules point elsewhere.
12. Changes to these terms
When these terms change we update the date at the top and notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after that is acceptance.
